Research Interest

My research at the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory (MagLab) in Tallahassee at Florida State University, focuses on advancing techniques in nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR), and dynamic nuclear polarization (DNP). A central focus of my work has been understanding and determining factors that influence DNP efficiency, leveraging a combination of Density Functional Theory (DFT), Molecular Mechanics, and advanced spin dynamics numerical simulations to optimize experimental conditions. These efforts aim to refine polarizing agents, sample preparation and instrumentation, leading to improved sensitivity and reliability in DNP-enhanced NMR spectroscopy. The optimization of DNP experiments in our lab has opened doors to the detailed study of complex biological systems, such as membrane proteins, and advanced materials, including energy storage systems and catalysts.

My contributions continue to advance the frontiers of magnetic resonance, with impacts spanning quantum sensing, structural biology, and materials science, helping to uncover fundamental insights and enabling transformative technologies.
