The FSU Glassblowing Shop is equipped to support the scientific and research community. While working closely with research scientists, faculty and students, the Glass Shop can meet all of your needs, from consulting, repair, modifications of standard glassware, fabrication, and custom design of scientific glassware in both Quartz and Pyrex glass. The Glass Shop gladly provides support to the needs of the entire university.

Equipment
The Glass Shop is equipped with:
- one medium glassblowing lathe
- water cooled cut off saw with diamond tip blade
- water jetted drill press
- annealing oven
- wet sander
- polarized light to measure strain in glass
- a variety of hand torches and bench burners
Shop supplies consist of standard tapered joints, a-ring joints and flanges, hi vacuum and standard stopcocks, in both glass and Teflon plugs, graded seals, glass to metal seals, fritted discs, threaded tubes, hose connectors, laboratory glassware flask blanks, capillary tubing, plate glass, and both Quartz and Pyrex tubing in various diameters.
Fees
There is no charge for labor; however, materials are billed at cost plus 15%.
