An alumnus from the Department, William J. Neary, has accepted a tenure-track Assistant Professor position within the Department of Chemistry at the University of California – Riverside. William was a member of the Kennemur Research Group before successfully defending his thesis entitled “Ring Opening Metathesis Polymerization of Low Ring Strain Species” in 2019. He then accepted a Post-Doctoral Scholar position under the tutelage of Prof. Jeffrey Moore at UIUC where he works currently. UC-Riverside is an R1 Research University and the Department of Chemistry Graduate Program is currently ranked in the top 75 in the nation according to US News & World Reports. He will begin his independent research starting in the fall of 2023.
