|
Nikolas R. Dos Santos
Research Focus: Photochemical
cyclization
Nikolas
was born and raised in São Paulo, Brazil, and moved to the United States in
2010, when he was 16 years old. He earned his B.Sc
in chemistry from Wingate University in North Carolina in 2018. He is
currently pursuing his Ph.D. in chemistry. His interests are in the use of
strategy design to drive the discovery of new photochemical cyclization and
design of novel PAHs
|
Beauty
K. Chabuka
Research Focus: Computation - Electron and hole upconversion
Beauty
received her combined B.Sc/M.Sc degree in chemistry from Idaho State
University. Her research involves the use of computational methods to explore
organic reactions.
|
|
|
Michael
Commodore
Research Focus: Study of the
properties of organic magnetic materials
Michael graduated with a B.Sc in
chemistry from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST),
Ghana. In 2021, he joined Professor Igor V. Alabugin's laboratory at Florida
State University to pursue a Ph.D. His research focuses on the design,
synthesis, and study of the properties of organic magnetic materials
(functionalized carbon-rich materials).
|
Favour Danladi Makurvet
Research Focus: Synthesis of porous
graphene
Favour graduated with a B.Sc in
chemistry from Kaduna State University, Nigeria, in 2016. He completed a
Master's program in Green and Sustainable Chemistry at the University of
Nottingham, England, in 2020. In 2021, he joined Professor Alabugin's
laboratory at Florida State University, where he works on the design,
development, and application of synthetic strategies to access chemical
precursors for the bottom-up synthesis of porous graphene

|
Kimberley
Christopher
Research Focus: Computation
- applications
Kimberley
completed her B.Sc. in Chemistry and Biology from Lakehead University in
2020. Her undergraduate research involved using bioinformatics to
investigategenetic linkage and
protein-protein interactions as well as synthesizing ligands fordiagnostic imaging. Currently, she uses
computational methods to addressfundamental problems in physical organic chemistry with applications
in medicinal, material, and energy sciences.

Lona Dutta
Research Focus: Study ofthe properties of functionalized
carbon-rich materials.
Lona Dutta received her Doctor of Philosophy (Ph. D.) in
Organic Chemistry from Indian Institute of Science Education and Research
(IISER), Mohali. In 2024, she joined as a Postdoctoral Scholar in Igor V.
Alabugin's laboratory at Florida State University. Her research focuses on
the design, synthesis, and study of the properties of functionalized
carbon-rich materials.
