Density is an intensive property of matter that is calculated by dividing one extensive property, mass (m), by another extensive property, volume (V). Density = Mass/Volume or d = m/V One of the most interesting uses of the property of density, outside of the laboratory, is the raising and lowering of submarines in the ocean. In this experiment, we will investigate the property of density by creating and testing our own "submarines". |
